As I was intending to represent the word «&nbsp;healing&nbsp;» the image of this fierce yet fragile black woman suturing her own wounds popped in my mind. She’s peaceful. Patient. Resilient. Alone… I have seen it happen a lot: women being left alone to deal with their suffering. Expected to endure. Expected to stay silent and forgive the violence and neglect of their brothers in fight. Expected to hold the community together at their own expense. Expected to lick their wounds and go straight back to fiercely taking care of every body else. Expected to «&nbsp;no woman no cry&nbsp;» in the face of disrespect and constant dehumanisation. Even in revolutionary spaces patriarchy remains overlooked. This print is part of a limited edition.
